Tzoumakers

An open lab for communities to cooperatively design and manufacture tools for small-scale agricultural production

This page has been written based on a research work on Governance conducted by IAAC team within the CENTRINNO EU research project.

Tzoumakers is an open lab for communities to cooperatively design and manufacture tools for small-scale agricultural production, located in the region of Tzoumerka, Greece. It is constantly empowering the local agricultural communities providing them with tailor made open-source solutions. Their motto is “design global, manufacture local”.

This super small, isolated and rural CPH is a clear example of a physical and digital networked ecosystem where, through open access approaches and collaborative processes, knowledge and innovation are nurtured globally by distributed communities and the production of tools for agricultural activities is manufactured locally. The whole process of manufacturing is documented and shared with the communities in order to create virtuous loops of knowledge and production.

Find hereafter a short presentation to learn about their governance models and organizational structure .
