Get your FCH's governance right
All Fab City Hubs have a governance structure, whether we are aware of it or not.
Why does governance matter ?
Fab City Hubs are places of confluence and connections among different actors and resources. One of their aims is to foster thriving and productive collaboration among them for sustainable production and resilient cities. Governance models and approaches are at the core of these collaborations.
Governance models are a fundamental aspect to be enquired for setting up your Fab City Hub. They are manifold and depends on your local context and challenges. There is not a all-fit-one solution for your Hub, what is crucial is to understand which one suits better for your case.
Before going into specific tools, methods and stories that will help you defining the most appropriate governance model for your Fab City Hub, find hereafter a series of useful key aspects to consider about governance models.

After going through the Get your Governance section, you may not have many answers on how to approach your Fab City Hub’s governance structure, but we hope you have some new questions to start discussing locally how to start. Even though governance structures are context- and culture-specific, and there is for sure not a one-size-fits-all approach, we include here some tools developed by the Collective Impact Forum that may facilitate your work on some of the key concepts previously described and exemplified.
